Chaplain Charles Brown

Charles Brown was appointed Chaplain of the Pat Tillman Memorial VFW Post 40 in Avondale, Arizona, in 2026. Prior to his appointment, he served in the position on a temporary basis in 2025 until being duly appointed by the Commander and unanimously endorsed by the membership.

Charles enlisted in the United States Air Force in November 1962 and served at various bases throughout the United States, as well as overseas assignments in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. His service as a Medical Technician provided him the opportunity to care for people at many different stages of life.

In 2006, Charles was ordained as a Deacon at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. His favorite Bible scripture is Psalm 133:

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

Charles was born and raised in New York City, New York. He has two sons from a previous marriage and is currently married to Teresa A. Brown.
