Aaron Jongeneel
became a member of Pat Tillman Memorial VFW Post 40 in 2025. In the same year,
he was elected to serve as a Post Trustee, helping ensure the financial
accountability and integrity of the Post.
Aaron served in
the United States Army from September 1999 to November 2016, earning his VFW
eligibility through overseas service in Afghanistan. Over the course of more
than 16 years of honorable service, he served as a Cavalry Scout.
In recognition
of his service, Aaron received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with four
campaign stars), Bronze Star Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal,
Army Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Achievement Medal (four awards),
Valorous Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (four awards), National Defense
Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism
Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (five awards), Army Service
Ribbon, NATO Medal, and several badges including Pathfinder, Parachutist, and
Air Assault.
Since joining
the VFW, Aaron has dedicated himself to supporting veterans and advancing the
Post’s mission. His election as Trustee reflects his commitment to
accountability, service, and the well-being of fellow veterans.
Aaron resides in
Goodyear, Arizona.
