Pat Tillman Memorial VFW Post 40, Avondale, Arizona
Robert Brunner became a member of Pat Tillman Memorial VFW Post 40 in 2025. In
the same year, he was elected to serve as a Post Trustee, helping ensure the
financial accountability and integrity of the Post.
Robert served in the United States Army from April 1999 to April 2022, earning
his VFW eligibility through overseas service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the
course of a distinguished 23-year military career, he served as a Cavalry
Scout, Recruiter, Drill Sergeant, and later as an Armor Senior Sergeant.
In recognition of his service, Robert received the Meritorious Service Medal
(second award), Army Commendation Medal (fifth award), Army Achievement Medal
(forth award), Meritorious Unit Commendation (second award), the
Army Good Conduct Medal (seventh award), National Defense Service Medal, Global
War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal,
and Afghanistan Campaign Medal ( w/ two stars) among others.
Since joining the VFW, Robert has committed himself to supporting fellow
veterans and advancing the mission of the organization. His leadership as
Trustee reflects his dedication to service, integrity, and the well-being of
the veteran community.
Robert resides in Goodyear, AZ wife Jessiee and two daughters, Sarah and
Haylee.
